Well the show has been and gone. The layout work! The locos behaved them selves only the couplings cause trouble. I might change a few buildings to make the scene it look better. Here also are a selection of photos of other 009 layouts as well.
The layout Idea came about from a unused round table 60cm which was going to the charity shop but decided to save it for 009 layout. I tossed some ideas around with a few friends of mine at my local model club Swansea railway modellers group and decided to do something a bit freelance but with a Sodor theme. There a limited amount of information about the Mid Sodor railway other than what the Rev W Awdry had written about which apart from one book telling the story of MSR No 1 Duke, and others in 'Duke the lost engine'. It was a shame that there was not more story's about that line. So I decided to do King Orry's Bridge which is the terminus for the Mid Sodor railway in 009 Narrow gauge. Well here is part of King Orrys castle wall and entrance, there will be some more of the curtain wall. The kit is part of the metcalf range, a nice kit. There will be more to come on the buildings going on. If you want to see it in the flesh, it will be at Swansea railway model show on the 9/10 September in Swansea leisure centre.
